What are service categories, and how do I change them?
We created service categories (i.e., dog walking, dog hiking, daycare, sitting & boarding, training, spa & grooming, and miscellaneous) to not only help you keep your services organized but also allow you to customize your policies and settings by category. Every service within each category will then inherit whatever policies and settings you have set up for the category. That means every dog walking service you offer for example will have the same available hours, cancellation policy, etc.
Viewing and customizing your categories are simple. First, choose Settings from the main navigation.
This will take you to your Services & Pricing page, where you can see your existing service categories (if you have any). If you'd like to add or remove a service category, simply tap on "edit categories" at the bottom of the screen.
On the Edit Categories page, you'll see the full list of categories available on our platform. You can tap on an inactive category to add it to your company or tap on a selected category to remove it from your company. Once you're done, make sure to hit save! While you can't customize the label for what we call each category, we are always open to feedback! If you have any suggestions for new categories, don't be a stranger! ⚠️ If you remove a category that still contains services, those services will automatically be moved into the Miscellaneous category. The Miscellaneous category cannot be removed until all services within the category have been either removed or reassigned to a different category.
How do I switch the category for a service?
Tapping on a category on the Services & Pricing page expands or collapses the category to show or hide the individual services that you offer within that category. You can then change the category that a service belongs to by tapping into the service to edit it. On the edit service page that pops up, simply tap into the category field to open the list of categories that you offer as a company. Only the categories that you've selected for your company from the Edit Categories page will be visible to you in this dropdown. When done, hit save! 👏
