How do I add an appointment to my schedule?

You can add an appointment to your schedule from either the Schedule tab or the Clients tab.


Adding an appointment from the Schedule tab

Regardless of which view of the Schedule tab you might be looking at, you'll always see a "New" button at the top of your screen on a computer or tablet. On your phone, look for the "+" button at the top right of your schedule. This will open the add appointment page. 

On the add appointment page, start by selecting the pet(s) that the appointment is for. You can search your clients by either human or pet names. If a family has multiple pets, all pets in the family will be selected by default, so you'll need to deselect any pets who won't be needing the appointment that you're trying to book before continuing.

Next, choose the appointment date. If you want to add multiple appointments at once, you can choose more than one date. You can also make the appointment a repeating event.

On the next screen, choose the service, staff, and time for each date you have selected. You (as the person signed in to PetPocketbook while adding the appointment) will always be the default staff member assigned (unless the family has designated preferred staff), but you can change that assignment to someone else on your team right from this page. Whomever the assigned staff member, you will see their existing schedule for your selected appointment date. We hope this will make it easier for you to add a pup to an existing pack by simply tapping on the pack, or help you book around existing appointments for any 1on1 services. If you offer pack services and are adding a pup into an existing pack, you'll also be able to assign a pickup order -- whether that's first, last, or between specific dogs already in the pack -- by using the "pickup" dropdown.

Once you tap "I'm done" in the side panel where you've made your service, staff, and time selections, these selections will also be prefilled for any additional dates that you've selected. You can then make changes to the appointment details for the other selected appointment dates, or if our prefills were helpful, just tap "Finish" to add the appointment(s) to your schedule.

Clicking into an empty time slot in calendar view

From the calendar view, you'll notice a yellow box appear when you hover over an empty spot on the calendar. That means that you can click here to create a new appointment for the staff whose schedule you are viewing and into the time and date that you've clicked. This will open the add appointment page, and you'll follow the same steps as above, except the time, date, and staff would be prefilled based on where you had clicked. 


Adding an appointment from the Clients tab

Each client’s profile has an Appointments tab. From here, you can follow the “Add appointment” button to add an appointment.
