How do I leave a tip?

Just like other services, tipping is common practice in pet care! It’s a great way to show your appreciation for taking great care of your pet. 🥰️

If you’d like, you can leave a tip for your pet care provider right through PetPocketbook! You can add a tip when making a payment, set up your automatic payment to include a tip, or by adding a tip to a payment that has already been made, like for payments made using AutoPay.

Tip when making a payment

To add a tip when making a payment, enter the tip using the tipping options provided or enter a custom tip amount. In the example below, we’re making a $100 payment and have selected the option for a 15% tip. The total payment made includes any tips, taxes, and fees.

Set up tips with AutoPay

In your billing settings, toggle on “Enable AutoPay”, if not already on, as well as “Add recurring tip”. Once on, input the tip amount that you’d like to include. You can choose any amount between 5% and 100%. For any new invoices going forward, we’ll automatically charge the payment method on file for the full outstanding balance, including the amount you’ve selected to tip your pet care professional.

Add a tip to a payment that's already been made

To leave a tip on a payment that’s already been made, you can tap the "add a tip" button on the receipt that you received via email! We'll bring you directly to the payment you’d like to add a tip to.

If you're already logged into PetPocketbook, you can tap on any payment to open up your payment details, and if you haven't already left a tip, you'll find an "add a tip" button on this screen.

Who does my tip go to?

Tips are automatically allocated to the staff members that completed the appointments on the bills that the payment settled. If you leave a tip on a payment that settles more than one bill or appointment, the tip will be allocated proportionally based on the percentage of visits on the bills completed by each staff member.

Simply put, if you tip $32 on a payment that settled a bill with 4 appointments, 3 of which were completed by Russell, and one of which was completed by Michelle, Russell would receive $24 of the tip and Michelle would receive $8.

Happy tipping! 💝
