Can staff approve their own appointments?
If your team approves their own requests, you can turn this on in the staff settings tab on your company settings page. Under scheduling options, just toggle on “My team approves their own schedules.” This will allow you to push client requests to their preferred professionals and send appointments to team members for approval. Of course, you’ll still be able to approve client requests on their behalf too.
Once toggled on, any requests you receive will automatically be routed to the primary staff member of that client family for approval. The pending request card will appear with the name of the assigned staff as well as a gold border on the right side of the request card.
If a family doesn’t have designated preferred staff, their requests will appear as unassigned in your pending requests where it can be assigned to a staff member or approved on their behalf. A coral border to the right of each request card helps to indicate that it’s unassigned and that it requires your attention.
When adding or modifying appointments or reviewing requests, tap “request” at the bottom of your screen to send it to the team member for approval, or tap “approve” to confirm the appointment on their behalf.
How does the approval process work?
Preferred professionals and staff members who have been assigned appointments will be able to approve or decline the request. Your team will receive an email notification for new requests in addition to seeing their own pending requests on their schedule in their staff portal. If your staff decline a request, the request will be sent to the client family’s next alternate staff (if one exists) for approval until all preferred staff have declined the request, at which point the request will become unassigned. An admin will then need to decide whether to decline the request on behalf of the company or find another staff member to take the appointment.
