How do I add or update the bank account where I'd like to be paid?
Head over to the Client billing tab on your company's Settings page.
To update an existing bank account, simply tap on the bank account on file on your screen, and you'll be prompted to link a new account.
If you’re setting up your bank account for the first time to receive payments through PetPocketbook, you’ll need to choose which online payment methods you’d like to accept first, if you haven’t done so already. From that same page, you’ll then be able to tap to add a bank account; or if you’d like to update a previously linked bank account, you can simply tap your saved bank account to replace it with a new one.
You can connect to your bank either by using your online banking credentials (U.S. only) or by entering your account and routing numbers.
Using your online banking credentials
We've partnered with Plaid to support instant account verification by using your online banking credentials to link your account. Plaid is the same service provider that Venmo uses to link up bank accounts, so you might already be familiar with the process! Please note that this is currently only available for companies operating in the U.S.
Using your account and routing numbers
If you are entering your account information manually, please tap the "show" button in each field to double check your work and make sure that you've entered the correct account and routing numbers.
- If you have a US account, your routing number is a 9-digit number unique to your bank.
- If you have a Canadian account, your routing number is a combination of your institution number and your transit number.
- If you have an Australian account, please enter your 6-digit BSB number as the routing number.
Once your bank account has been added, we’ll be depositing $1 into your connected bank account (which we'll subsequently withdraw) to confirm that you had inputted the correct account information. Please note that it can take 1-3 business days for this deposit to show up in your statement.
Because it can be next to impossible to get back funds that are deposited into the wrong account, we highly recommend that you connect your account far enough in advance to confirm this verification deposit before you begin accepting payments through PetPocketbook.
Verifying the owner of the bank account
If you’re connecting your bank account for the first time using one the the methods above, you will need to verify the owner of the bank account to complete the setup process.
In the account owner field, you’ll be able to choose from any staff member in your PetPocketbook account set with Owner level access. Select the owner of the bank account that you linked. If the bank account’s owner is not available for selection, add this individual to your PetPocketbook account with “Owner” level access.
Once you have selected the account owner, enter this person’s birthday and the last 4 digits of their social security number (for U.S. businesses only) to verify their identity
When you’re finished, remember to tap save at the bottom of your screen!
