How do I close out a bill early?

Don’t want to wait until the end of the billing period for your client to get their bill? No problem! You can adjust their billing period so a bill goes out sooner!

Assuming you're already on the billing history page of the client whose bill you'd like to close out early, simply tap on the ⚙️  Settings button at the top of your screen, which is a shortcut to your Clients tab opened up directly to that client's Billing settings in their family profile. 

To send a bill the next day, select “Daily” from the Billing Frequency dropdown on the relevant family's Billing settings page. Once updated, the bill will be sent out first thing in the morning the next day. You can also choose to send the bill at one of the other billing frequency options available. For example, choose “Weekly” for the bill to close at the end of the week and be sent out to your client first thing Monday morning.

That's it! Now if you go back to your draft invoice, you'll notice that your bill is now scheduled to go out the next morning! 🎉

💡 Let's say your client is normally billed on a monthly basis, but you wanted to close out their bill early to go out tomorrow because they're going to be out of town the rest of the month. Presumably, you don't want to continue billing this client on a daily basis for future appointments next month. Once you've changed their billing frequency for the current bill to "Daily," you can immediately switch the billing frequency back to what you'd like this client to be billed on normally — in our example, monthly. Upon doing so, you'll be prompted to choose the bill that you'd like this change to take effect as of. In this case, choose "next bill" so that this doesn't undo the update that you just made to close out the current bill early. After the current bill goes out the next day, the client will then automatically be switched back to the frequency that you had selected — in our case, monthly.
