How should I set up packages in PetPocketbook?

If you offer bundled pricing, we recommend creating a service for a la carte as well as each of your packages; for your packages, set the service price to the implied price per visit.

For example: let’s say a single puppy training session is $50, and 5 puppy training sessions are $240. The implied price per visit for the 5-pack package is $240 / 5 sessions = $48 per session. In this case, we’d create a service for the $50 a la carte session and another for the $48 packaged price. See screenshot below:

When these services are completed on your schedule, they would get added to a draft invoice at the correct amount for that client.

What if I accidentally booked the wrong version of the service?

If an appointment is booked for the wrong service, you can easily modify that by opening the appointment and changing the service via the dropdown menu.

Once you hit “save”, the appointment will be correct, and your client will be billed the right amount when the appointment is marked complete.

Can my clients prepay for packages in PetPocketbook? How does billing work for packages?

Yes! Your clients can log into their pet parent portal to make a payment at any time, with or without an outstanding bill. That payment will be credited to their balance, and as appointments are completed, they will eat into that credit, until the package is used up.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to send an invoice for a package in advance at this time (although it is something that we are working on! 🤓). Instead, you’ll need to tell your clients how much they should be paying you for a package, and they can login to PetPocketbook to make that payment prior to services. At the end of each billing period, they’ll receive a statement for what they’ve used and how much credit (if any) they have remaining.
