How is tip allocated to my staff?
Well done! You've received a tip! 🍻
If a tip is included in a payment in PetPocketbook (online or manually tracked), it'll be allocated to the staff members that completed the appointments on the bill(s) that the payment settled. The allocation would be proportional based on the percentage of visits on the bill(s) completed by each staff member.
For example: A client tipped $32 during a period that included 4 appointments, 3 of which were completed by Russell, and one of which was completed by Michelle. In this case, Russell would receive $24 of the tip (75% of the total tip), and Michelle would receive $8.

If a staff member has been allocated a tip, you and they will see the tip show up as a separate line item in their payroll breakdown.
- If the payment along with the tip was made to you directly (whether outside of PetPocketbook or via credit/debit card or bank transfer through our platform), you'll still be responsible for paying out the tip to your staff with their compensation.
- If your staff had collected the payment including tip (in cash for example) and kept the tip they were allocated, you should remove the allocated tip amount from your staff's total compensation before paying out what they're owed.
Why do some tips show as unallocated on my staff compensation summary?
If a client has pre-paid for services and included a tip, that tip amount will be included in an unallocated tip line on your compensation summary page until the related appointments are completed.
