Will I receive my 1099-K electronically or by physical mail?

Around mid-January, owners of U.S.-based businesses on PetPocketbook will be prompted to confirm your physical address and/or email address where you'd like to receive your 1099-K, if you meet federal or state filing thresholds. If you have not indicated your delivery preference yet, you'll have the opportunity to enroll in paperless delivery on this prompt.

Prompt confirming your address and email (if applicable)

If you enroll in paperless delivery and meet federal or state filing thresholds, you will receive an email around January 31st when your 1099-K for the prior year is available for review. After you submit your consent, paperless delivery will apply for all future 1099s delivered by PetPocketbook unless you withdraw consent. If you wish to obtain a paper copy of your 1099 form after you have consented to paperless delivery, you can submit a request via email to support@petpocketbook.com. You can also choose to withdraw consent to paperless delivery by emailing support@petpocketbook.com. Withdrawal of consent to electronic delivery of 1099 forms will be effective immediately but will only apply to 1099 forms not yet issued.

If you do not consent to paperless delivery, PetPocketbook will mail a paper 1099 form to you. The paper form form will be delivered to the address that is on your 1099 form at the time of filing.

Regardless of your delivery preference, you can electronically access any 1099s filed by PetPocketbook for your business in the Taxes tab of the reports dashboard in your PetPocketbook portal. Typically, the most recent 1099 should be available in your dashboards around the first week of February.

When downloading a tax form from your PetPocketbook portal, you'll need to re-enter your account password for security purposes

Why didn't I receive a 1099?

Well, it could be one of three reasons why you didn't receive a 1099 from us:

  1. You didn't meet filing requirements, so none was filed with the IRS. Learn more about who's eligible to receive a 1099 from us.
  2. If you did meet filing thresholds and consented to paperless delivery, our email notice may have gotten filtered somewhere by your email provider. You can see if a 1099-K has been filed and download your copy from the Taxes tab of the reports dashboard in your PetPocketbook portal.
  3. If you did meet filing thresholds and opted to receive a paper form, your copy may have gotten lost in the mail. If you have not yet received your copy by the end of February and would like for us to mail you a duplicate copy, please email us at support@petpocketbook.com. If you don't want to wait, you can always access your electronic copy in the Taxes tab of the reports dashboard in your PetPocketbook portal.
