Can I automatically add a fee for off-hours services?


Yes! If you’re using time windows, you’ll be able to set your fee and choose which time windows you’d like to designate as your off-hours. When pet parents request services during your off-hours time windows, a fee will automatically be added to the cost of the service when it’s completed!


Setting up off-hours surcharges

Under the policies & fees tab in your category settings, scroll down to the off-hours section. Here, you'll be able to set your fee and choose which time windows you'd like to designate as your off-hours. In the example below, we’ve added a $5 fee and have chosen to give 100% of that fee to the staff member assigned to the appointment. Our designated off-hours windows are 6:00AM - 9:00AM Mon - Sun and 3:00PM - 5:00PM Mon-Fri.


⚠️If you don’t see an off-hours section, that’s because you don't have fixed time windows set up for your services. We'll be working on making off-hours surcharges available for categories using flexible windows and exact appointment times in the future!


How will my clients know about off-hours surcharges?

On the booking summary page, pet parents will see an Estimated cost section that itemizes any automated surcharges & fees (including sales tax, if applicable) so that they have an idea of the total cost of their requested services. Hovering or tapping on the information icon next to the off-hours surcharge in this section will give them more information about your policy and which days and times surcharges are being applied.


What if I need to make an exception for a client?

No problem! Automated surcharges are added to your client's draft invoices when the requested appointment is completed. At that point, the fee appears on the draft invoice just like any other additional charge adjustment that you might manually add to a bill. You can then remove that adjustment when editing the draft. 😎
