Can I create a custom distribution list of clients to email through PetPocketbook?
Absolutely! 😎
With our in-app messenger, you can create a custom distribution list of clients to message in one of two ways:
- Manually select a group of recipients from your client list; or
- Create an automated distribution list to send an announcement to based on whether they have an appointment scheduled in a given timeframe, what services they receive from you, and more!
To get started, simply tap on your Messages tab in your main navigation to go to your inbox and then tap on the create new message icon at the top right corner of your screen.
⚠️ Your clients will receive your full message via email if they haven't already read it in PetPocketbook 15 minutes after your message has been sent. You'll need to have Senior Staff or above access level to send group announcements!
Manually selecting a group of recipients
On the create new message screen, you can select multiple families from your client families list on the right side of your screen on desktop or after tapping the new message icon at the top right of your screen from the messages inbox on a mobile device. Each selected client family will then be added to your custom recipient list! 👌
Creating an automated distribution list
On the create new message screen, instead of selecting individual families in the client list, choose families with appointments on… under the Group Announcements section at the top of the screen.
You can then create a distribution list based on whether your clients have appointments on one or more specific dates or in the last 3, 6, or 12 months.
If you want to narrow your list down to clients who've booked specific types of services, you can specify your selection(s) on the next screen, or choose the any service category option if there's no need to further specify by category.
Once you've made your selections, just send your message! 📨
After sending a group announcement, your message will be added to each recipient family’s conversation thread where they can then respond directly to you! You’ll also see your sent messages in the Group Announcements thread pinned to the top of your Messages inbox, where we help you see a history of all group announcements that have been sent to your clients whether to all clients or a select group. On group announcements sent to a custom distribution list, you can tap the info icon next to your message to see a list of the recipients of that message.
